Richmond Arts Supporter
Richmond, Virginia
Pam and Bill both fell in love with the arts at an early age. Today they are avid collectors and actively support emerging artists, arts organizations, and a host of educational opportunities offered through the arts. Pam is a former board member of Richmond’s Neighborhood School of the Arts, a current board member and former president of 1708 Gallery, and Vice Chair of the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. Bill is a board member and former president of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and a member of the Executive Committee and Advisory Board for VCU’s Institute for Contemporary Art. Along with Steve and Kathie Markel, Pam and Bill co-chaired the campaign committee that raised $37 million to build the ICA. They funded the first dedicated curatorial position at 1708 Gallery in 2018, a position at the center of the gallery’s exciting new strategic plan. Together Pam and Bill created Try-me, an art space in Richmond’s Uptown arts district that supports artists and arts educators and fosters an environment for learning and philanthropy.
