Postdoctoral researcher
Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Olivera Kotevska is a postdoctoral researcher in Computer Science and Mathematics at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Tennessee, USA. Olivera received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble, France in 2018. Before joining ORNL, she worked as an international guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Washington, DC performing data analysis for smart city challenges as well as researching the security and privacy aspects of modern Intelligent Virtual Assistants.

Olivera's doctoral research focused on applying machine learning methods to systems based on internet of things (IoT) to identify pattern relations between sensors, event detection, and event prediction. Additionally, she is interested in using machine learning-based approaches for increasing security and privacy aspects of Cyber-Physical Systems. At ORNL, she is mentored by Dr. Kalyan Perumalla and works with him and others broadly on event-based distributed/networked systems applied to effective sensing and control of complex installations such as nuclear reactors and electric grids.

She is a member of the Big Data working group and the Global City Teams Challenge at NIST, and a member of the IEEE and Sigma Xi.
