Chris Gullickson joined the Port of Virginia in August of 2013. He holds the position of Director, Economic Development, with a primary focus in building captive cargo volume at The Port of Virginia by working closely with state, regional and local economic development representatives in an effort to expand and locate manufacturing facilities, distribution centers and maritime-related operations.
Prior to joining the Port, Chris spent seven years at the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance. He held the position of Vice President and was responsible for attracting new businesses to Hampton Roads, VA. During Chris’s time at HREDA he successfully assisted numerous companies that located to the Hampton Roads region.
Chris is a graduate of Old Dominion University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Finance. Chris is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Economic Developers Institute, having earned a certificate in Economic Development. Chris is an active member of the Southern Economic Development Council and the Norfolk, VA chapter of The International Propeller Club.
Chris and his wife Danielle reside in Chesapeake, VA and they have two daughters, Elle and Emmeline.
