Shelly Callahan is the Executive Director of the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees (MVRCR) in Utica, NY. MVRCR was incorporated in 1981and has resettled 16,500 refugees into Utica from all over the world. MVRCR also serves thousands of immigrants each year, works with dozens of employers to develop work force, and is a driving force in the revitalization of the city of Utica. Ms. Callahan started at MVRCR in 2006 and has held the role of Executive Director since 2013. This year MVRCR will launch the Utica One World Welcome and Opportunity Center. Prior to this Ms. Callahan worked as an editor in the Reporter of Decisions Office at the United States Supreme Court. She graduated State University of New York at Buffalo. She resides in Holland Patent NY with her husband, 3 children and 3 dogs.
