Karla is a veteran in clean energy policy and business development, specializing in green field projects, new market entry and regulatory and legislative affairs. As the Vice President of Policy & Development for Sigora, Karla is in charge of overseeing legislative, administrative and regulatory efforts at the local, state and national levels, as well as coordinating and managing strategic development partnerships. In December 2017 Karla was elected by general membership to serve a two year term on the National Board of SEIA as an alternate. Karla's clean energy expertise is extensive and diverse. Karla is an established expert on issues relating to low-to-moderate income access to clean energy and has resulted in the creation of LMI elevated solar incentives and other clean energy policies in Virginia, Louisiana, New York, Mississippi and Connecticut. Karla’s clean energy experience includes substantial utility scale wind energy development including the development and construction of 1500+ MW of wind energy in Texas and contracted over 300,000 acres of wind energy projects in 4 states.
