The Spill Teem
Waynesboro, Virginia
Joshua René is an innovative free thinker who serves as the Founder and CEO of The Spill Teem®. For over ten years, human services taught Joshua that serving people begins with serving how they think. He's held tight to this to build creative ways to bring thinking with clarity to the surface outside of restricting safety margins or internal noise. His secret ingredient is, design-thinking! Otherwise defined as a cognitive, strategic and practical process to problem-solving. It's a way of thinking and working as well as a collection of hands-on methods.

Along the way, he's been presented the Program Leadership in Sales, Marketing and Technology Award and he holds a Mastery Certification in Leadership Development. Joshua has also served as a panelist at the University of Virginia's, First Annual, Serving Society Conference. Actively, he's an Adjunct Instructor, Speaker, and Thought Leader in Central Virginia and Southern Florida. Recently, he and his team were honored to lead an innovative talk at Charlottesville Virginia's annual Quadruplicity Conference, Central Virginia's Premier Women's Conference. He dives in head first, introducing a style of development provoked by the rules he lives by, “The external growth we want is a direct result of the internal growth we need.”

Around 2016, Joshua decided to challenge himself and others to view their work differently, so he left his 9-5 to create the proprietary design consultancy, The Spill Teem®. The Spill Teem® is a design-thinking consultancy whose mission it is to shift the thought culture of people. Joshua's team of tacticians provides vision & strategic methods using design thinking to a wide range of clients: The University of Virginia; Central Virginia's local government; national recording artist labels; nonprofits; as well as small and large businesses. His team not only develops but also partners with The City of Charlottesville's, ‘GO Connect: Networking ReImagined’ initiative. To sum it up, The Spill Teem uses design thinking to help people ’Spill on Purpose!'™

Exercising this passion with strong beliefs that we are personally & professionally the same people, Joshua has perfected a series of thought-provoking talks & workshops; which he calls 'Spill Teem Live!' The goal of 'Spill Teem Live' events is to empower individuals to become innovative free thinkers, who walk with clarified purpose.

He currently holds a seat on the Barrett Early Learning Center board and serves as a mentor, coach, and discussion leader at Community Investment Collaborative.
