Building Community through Food and Business:
People are finding creative ways to connect through food.  Sharing a meal is an intimate experience, and those who sit beside us at the table share this experience, families become closer and strangers become known. Melissa Palombi published Hoos in the Kitchen in an attempt to learn more about the Charlottesville community, through her preferred lens of food experiences and love of all things culinary.

A panel of contributors from the Hoos in the Kitchen cookbook get together to discuss the importance of food in nourishing community and share the creative and inspired ways they are creating experiences with their businesses.

Please join Melissa as she talks with Walter Slawski of the Sheben and The Catering Outfit; Laura Brown representing The Local Food Hub;  Andy McClure restauranteur of The Virginian, The Biltmore and Tavern and Grocery; Sarah Cramer Shields, Charlottesville photographer extraordinaire about their perspectives and what might be next for the Charlottesville food scene. Additionally, Chef Tanya Holland will be joining virtually to contribute.
