The IRC in Charlottesville invites community members, partner agencies, current and former clients, donors and volunteers to an Open House. Guests will receive a tour of the office and learn more about our many community programs designed to help refugees and other immigrants rebuild their lives in Charlottesville. Guest will have the opportunity to chat with staff and former refugees to learn about their experiences. The tour will highlight new and innovative programs and partnerships, such as our Afghan women's support groups, after-school youth programming, and New Roots community garden and food access initiatives. Light refreshments will be served. Since 1998, the IRC in Charlottesville has assisted nearly 4,000 refugees from 31 countries to achieve economic self-sufficiency, a sense of security and social integration in the community.
